Parental Involvement The book, Beginning Steps for Learning at Home
and at School: a Parent Guide-a Teacher Tool by
Cheryl Kay Hoefler, is a great way to involve
parents in the classroom. Parents can work with students individually or in small groups. The student gains additional exposure to the academic content standards and indicators through the parent volunteer. The parent can also help the student date his or her data collection page when the skill is mastered. The parent volunteer is a wonderful resource for helping students record class data that is connected to the book.
