Each page illustration has also been reduced in size and placed on a Skill Checklist in the back of the book. The student can easily identify the mastered skill page icon, even if he or she is unable to read the page number that is next to the illustration.
The adult helps the student write the date next to the skill page illustration on the Skill Checklist pages, reflecting the skill's mastery by the student. The student and adult can see immediately what he or she has learned and what he or she needs to know by the end of kindergarten. These two pages can also be considered an Individual Data Collection of skills learned.
