   Letter and sound identification is heavily    emphasized in the first few pages of the book.    There is a developmental progression of skills in the    four subject areas of Math, Social Studies,    Science, and Language Arts, including the Five    Essential Reading Components.  Oral language    development is the underlying theme for all pages    of the book.
